3 years later...

The last time I published something on here was almost 3 years ago, on march 2011, and I don't know the reason why I stopped. Probably it is because I decided to modify and update my blog and I had no time to do it, probably it's because I was to busy to write on it.

For this "new begin" I choosed a little little sketch I made in 2009, at the  JFK airport, right at the end of a trip to New York. This is not a portrait or a self-portrait, just a quick improvisation inspired by the moment and by the place. Someone who's dreaming, desiring or remembering (a specific point where a similar sensation could come from different positions in the situation).

As for the long period without publishing, I have no real explanations for the choice of this image. I just recently stumbled on it and it made me think about the past. It made me think that a lot of things happened since 2009 (and also since march 2011), and it made me notice that if I think about myself of 1 year ago, I feel like 5 years are passed (so my 2013 it's like a 2009 :-P ).

Edding Wall of Fame

I just finished to work on a graphic and I found the Edding Wall-of-Fame website where you can draw using virtual edding markers (if noone else is using them) on a big big white surface. Without delete, with viewers that can also leave comments and so on. Like a big public piece of paper! :-)

...and so I quickly did what my mind told me to do around a small, strange, linear shape of head with a long nose that already was there (and, you will see, the surface is really big and drawings are small and a lot... but somonene started drawing on mine after 3 minutes I made it... haha! I take it like a compliment! :-D ).

Here is my drawing into the Edding Wall-of-Fame:

...and here you can see a small part of the surface (can you see my drawing? :-P)

...funny night interactions... :-P

...and another one here:

The 1st drawing (but maybe "sketch" in this case it's better) of 2011 is totally handmade directly with black marker and then coloured markers.

domenica 7 novembre 2010

There's a moment, right after the satisfaction of having created something and before you get the urge to create something new, where you can get a sort of empty contentment feeling. At that precise moment it's difficult and pointless, unless you have an obligation and directives, start to create something else in freedom.

If you try you have first to commit much, as if it were necessary a physical effort to extract ideas from the brain, and sometimes it can be almost painful. Moreover, the results of this effort may not have any connection with feelings, emotions or situations, and reflect only the emptiness of which they are made,  depriving more satisfaction and making it even more painful steps in creation.

We can not find any sense (at any level), if not the sheer mechanics of creation. This is "Nonsensation" .. :-)

(..."Nonsensation" is a sketch made in a "nonsensational" moment then digitally painted. The painting process it's more satisfacting because it gives a direct sense in what you're doing and, at the end, it give sense also at the "nonsensational" moment... :-P on the image to enlarge it!)

This sketch was made some day ago, without a particular reason, and now it has been coloured. The idea was to colour it in 1 or 2 hours maximum. Here below, a detail that I like (click on the imagies to enlarge them).

Dentifricio - Arcobaleno

"Dentifricio - Arcobaleno" it's a little drawing-game between me and Mimmo Mendicino. Everyone choosed a word (I did it randomly, looking at the bookshelf and choosing the first word I saw) and then we had to realize a coloured drawing in almost 2 hours.
The words were "Dentifricio" (toothpaste) and "Arcobaleno" (rainbow) and these are the results: "Oh" by me, and "Refresh your Spirit" by Mimmo Mendicino (his website:

And he said "F"

And he said "F", but not necessarily to say something else after...
